Eddie Ruesewald is a full time husband, father of eight children and grandfather of four grandchildren. He attended high school at Subiaco Academy (Class of 1981) and graduated in May 1985 from the University of Dallas with a BA in Economics. He learned how to play the piano at the age of nine using his grandmother’s self-taught music books (published in 1897). By the 6th grade he was taking piano and organ lessons from Sr. Evelyn Marie Rischner at St. Philip Catholic School in El Campo, TX and began accompanying the school choir at the school Masses each week. He continued his musical education at Subiaco Academy under the tutelage of Father Gregory Pilcher where he continued to grow not only as a pianist and vocalist, but also as a leader in worship. He was awarded the most accomplished musician award upon graduation. He has been an active liturgical musician for over 40 years, leading many choirs and ensembles in various parishes and churches throughout Texas. He has composed several songs and hymns. In 2014 he wrote the Mass of the Immaculate Conception in honor of his grandmother, his mother, Sister Evelyn, and of course, Mary - The Immaculate Conception. He brings a passion and love of liturgical music wherever he goes. His main objective has always been to play music that creates an atmosphere that allows the gathered assembly to sing and be drawn into a worship experience that enables them to experience the presence of Christ in a real, powerful, communal and personal way.
He and his wife, Jennifer, are "empty nesters" and reside in Temple, Texas.
